Cherokee Nation to Take Applications
"For School Clothing Vouchers"

TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation will be providing $75 dollar clothing vouchers for qualified students in several locations throughout the month of July.

Cherokee Nation’s School Clothing Program is available to students enrolled in public school in grades K-12. The application must be made by a parent or guardian. Applicants must live in the 14-county jurisdictional area of the Cherokee Nation and meet income guidelines. Participants must present proof of address, income verification and a copy of the student’s tribal citizenship card.

Distribution will take place on the following dates and locations from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.:

South Coffeyville Community Building, on Monday, July 7

Keeler Heights in Bartlesville on, Tuesday, July 8

Tom Buffington Heights in Vinita, on Wednesday, July 9

Jay Community Center in Jay, on Tuesday, July 15

Sequoyah Schools old gym in Tahlequah, on Wednesday, July 16 and on Thursday, July 31

Larry Adair Exhibition Building in Stilwell, on Thursday, July 17

Cherokee Nation Housing Services Field Office in Sallisaw, on Tuesday, July 22

Three Rivers Health Center in Muskogee, Wednesday, July 23

Cherokee Nation Housing Services Field Office in Nowata, on Thursday, July 24

Cherokee Nation Housing Services Field Office in Claremore, on Tuesday, July 29

Cherokee Nation Food Distribution Site in Salina, on Wednesday, July 30

There are a limited number of clothing vouchers for each location. Human Services staff suggests that interested families apply at the location nearest their residence.

The program is offered through the Cherokee Nation’s Human Services Division. The mission of the department is to develop and support comprehensive social and educational programs for Cherokee people.
