TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation will be hosting a recruitment event for the United States Customs and Border Protection Agency on Monday, June 9, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., in the conference room of Talking Leaves Job Corps, located at 5700 Bald Hill Road, south of Tahlequah. The event is being hosted by the Cherokee Nation Career Services Group, whose mission is to develop and encourage individuals to achieve and maintain work habits and skills that promote employability and self-sufficiency through programs that encompass education, training, rehabilitation and supportive services. Applicants for the U.S. Border Patrol must be a U.S. citizen and have been a resident of the United States for the past three years, be between the ages of 18 and 39, and be able to pass a federal background investigation.
