Minneapolis, MN - On Monday, October 2, 2000 NNIC's new web site was launched. NNIC.COM is a project of MIGIZI Communications,. MIGIZI is an education and communications non-profit organization serving the Native American community of the Twin Cities since 1977.

NNIC.COM was initiated in 1997 to increase the presence of Native American organizations and their constituents on the World Wide Web. Our mission is to be the premier provider of American Indian web services. Our goal is to provide affordable web services for community nonprofit organizations and businesses.

In the last year MIGIZI has broadened it's focus and is working with other organizations serving communities of color that share our goal to bridge the digital divide and create a stronger presence of our communities on the Web. NNIC.COM has shifted it's focus to play a major role in achieving this shared goal. We are now providing non-profit organizations and small businesses with much needed web services at lower than commercial rates. As a non-profit communications organization that has always stayed at the forefront of technology, our experience places us in a unique position to serve the specific web tech needs of other non-profits more effectively than our competitors.

MIGIZI incorporates into all of its programs educational goals. NNIC.COM uses each web project as an educational tool. We work closely with MIGIZI's Native Academy Tech Interns program. The technical interns are paid high school students who are trained in web design and computer networking. During their training they receive hands on experience working side by side with staff creating websites for clients.
