November is Native American Heritage Month here at Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. We will have two main celebrations to honor our American Indian veterans. *Friday, November 15, 11AM-2PM at the Wade Park VA Campus Rec Hall 1st floor 10701 East Blvd, Cleveland, Ohio. *Friday, November 22 11AM-2PM at the Brecksville VA Campus Rec Hall, Building 24 10000 Brecksville Rd, Brecksville, Ohio.This year the keynote speaker will be Mary Jane Buckshot. Mary Jane Buckshot is an American Indian woman originally from the Navajo Reservation and is the daughter of a Navajo Code Talker. This year she will talk on the national Native American Heritage Month theme: "Honoring Life, Honoring Elders, Honoring Heritage".
We will serve an authentic American Indian lunch, and have a Native American dancing exhibition and a chance for you to dance in the circle. There will also be a Native American jewelry vendor. Come and join the celebration of honor! This is a FREE EVENT sponsored by the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs EEO Diversity Action Committee.
