As the Dineh Elders of the Black Mesa region face the February 2000 deadline, it is extremely crucial that people of conscience worldwide turn their prayers and support towards the final stand of these traditional people to remain on ancestral sacred lands.

Please come to The Witness/Peace/Education Camp beginning June 1, 1999. The Dineh Grandmothers are looking forward to your help with planting corn, herding and shearing sheep, hauling water, chopping wood, repairing fences and other survival chores.

The programs included are as follows:

Mondays & Tuesdays: 10:30 - 12:30 Marylou Blackrocks and Lucy Woody
Traditional Dineh Weaving
Mondays & Tuesdays: 1:30 - 3:30 Roberta Blackgoat and Pauline Whitesinger

Wednesdays: All Day Mary Katherine Smith

WE HOPE TO SEE ALL OF YOU SOON!
THE CAMP IS NOW OPEN.
NO DRUGS, ALCOHOL OR WEAPONS ARE ALLOWED.
THIS IS A PEACEFUL, NONVIOLENT EVENT.

Directions:

Those who wish to go to the Witness Camp will have to drive to Tuba City and get on the highway going towards Hotevilla which is 264. Approximately 35 miles or so from Tuba will be the Dinnebito Wash sign which is a left turn onto the main dirt road going up to Big Mountain. Once people drive along that main road without taking any turns and keeping right when approaching the first major fork after the Rocky Ridge school, they will eventually (8 - 10 miles) come to a turn off marked by red and black cloth which will mark the entire way to the Witness/Peace Camp. People can also call the Black Mesa Support at 520-773-8086 to leave a message.
